Without further delays, let’s get started with our reviews for the week.

Monsta X- Flavors of Love

With their excellent vocals, it is exceptionally hard to compete with the bombast and aura that swirls around Monsta X. There isn’t a single moment when your smile can escape the charms of 6 men singing the title track. This full-length Japanese album has a total of 11 tracks along with 3 Japanese versions of their previous releases in Korean.

‘Flavors of Love’ sends an electric shock done the spine as the strums of guitar chant a welcoming warmth of their vocal blend. What’s noteworthy is the members performing a soft pop in denim and ripping hearts so casually with their heart-throbbing lyricism. The new scents of future can include bitter days, so, the strength of character with fans’ support is all it takes to overcome it. These flavors of love paint the harmony inside beautiful memories that help us walk past the difficult times. This song is like a support to Monbebe and a gratifying symbol of fighting through tough times together with love.

Highlight – Not The End

This is one of the most longest-running groups in Kpop after some rebranding and rejuvenation. ‘Not The End’ traces to their previous works with a welcome sense of optimism. The song is more like a recommitment for the group to their career, after being absent from promotions since 2018.  They have been long past the race of outshining in KPop as they have served a good time as trend-setting idols. It’s time to reap the rewards and rejoice over their sung melody with articulation to pieces that highlight their talent. ‘Not The End’ wraps up every bit of these emotions towards another promising headstart with a more mature outlook. A promise to their fans as iconoclastic idols serving through their music.

Imitation X SHAX – Malo

The new series Imitation offers a star-studded fictional Idol cast from group members such as ATEEZ, SF9, U-Kiss, T-ara, g.o.d. Imitation is quite meta in its approach and given its proximity to Kdramas it surely scores a point.

Malo’s instrumental is driven by the guitar which sustains the high energy level. But rather as an engaging piece in music, it’s purely generic which is actually perfect given the project’s theme.

Ben – Because I am a woman

The song is about embracing the feminine side in love, the side that only knows about emitting love. Before a motherly instinct, a woman embraces the world with her love she has so much to give and so less to expect; It’s not her weakness neither her fault that it falls prey to a cheating man again and again. This song is about embracing that warm heart which even after repetitive failures and heartbreaks, does not give up on loving. The heart that is capable of cursing and missing the same person is not weak rather profound and the world must not exploit it.

Hi Cutie – Gray Area

The ninth digital single by Hi Cutie, ‘Gray Area’ also translated as MOHO, is about dilemma. The quotidian dilemmas we face while choosing between two choices, yes or no, black or white. The gray area is like a save zone when you can look back on your ambiguous mentality to contemplate about your fickle choices and yet not lose either of the two. The song has a fun playful girl group theme with a good connotation on daily choices in life.
