The last week of February is already here! Where do these 28/29 days even go every year?

Well, irrespective of the short duration, our long list of this week’s releases will make you forget how short the month even seemed, with its magnanimous multitude of bangers and bops. The most sensational and stirring out of these were H1GHR MUSIC’s BIG Naughty‘s EP, WILCOX‘s single with Motte, and ASH ISLAND‘s pre-release track, Melody. Let’s go check them all out!

Please note: Some songs are not yet available on Spotify or iTunes India.

K-HipHop:

  • BIG Naughty – ‘Joker (Ft. JAMIE)’

17-year old BIG Naughty who wowed the audience with his artistry and aura in SMTM8 and then as a member of the H1GHR MUSIC gang (KHA 2021’s Label/Crew of the Year), has released a holistic EP titled “Bucket List” which showcases the limitless potential of the teenage artist perfectly. The title track, “Joker”, melds the soft, enticing vocal-rap style of BIG Naughty with JAMIE’s strong-spirited, mellifluent vocals. The key to the track’s overwhelming appeal, however, lies in how well BIG Naughty uses his vocal inflections, range, and subtle vibratos to flow naturally over the jazzy melodies of the track. The penmanship and cinematography of the track also seem to be elite.

  • lIlBOI, Wonstein – ‘FRIENDS (Prod. Slom)’

The “Young Boss” (winner) of SMTM9, lIlBOI and one of the hottest fellow contestants alongside him, R&B/Hiphop artist Wonstein, combine their polished styles to honor in a parodical way, some of the all-time favorite movies and series like F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Oscar-winning movie- Parasite, and even 90s children classic, Teletubbies! Setting a chill, groovy mood (thanks to the great arrangement by Zion.T), Wonstein, and lIlBOI invite the listeners in, to revisit these favorites from different periods of their life story. The highlight of the track for sure, however, is when Wonstein appears in the F.R.I.E.N.D.S theme song setting and sings in his low yet strikingly melodic voice the famous lyrics, “So, no one told you life was gonna be this way”!
