2. SuperM – ‘One (Monster & Infinity)’

How do these Avengers of K-Pop just keep upgrading themselves every single comeback?!

Just finding the highlights of this amazing track is an impossible task as everything was just too flawless! From their perfect English motivational lyrics to the elite visuals to Baekhyun and Ten’s combined high notes to Mark’s awesome flow to Kai’s, Taemin’s and Taeyong’s powerful auras, everything was perfection in itself. 

However, what really stood out this comeback was how Ten, whose visuals wow us every time, got more time to show his true potential as an artist as well as screen time 🙂

3. THE BOYZ – ‘The Stealer’

THE BOYZ are not here to play and might really just steal all the awards at this year-end award shows if they keep producing such bops 😉

With one of the best choreography of this year and an impeccable job done at the production of the track, ‘The Stealer’ is a groovy bop that puts the member’s vocals and rap skills to good use, giving us listeners the best these boys have to offer 🙂

4. GHOST9 – ‘Think of Dawn’

POWERFUL ROOKIES SPOTTED!

With a track that brings back the classic K-Pop vibe that is both catchy and powerful in its own way, ‘Think of Dawn’ is a track that not only screams “Playlist-Material” but also of promises of the future potential of these rookies. The most-highly anticipated comeback due to its co-ed members’ dynamic, Checkmate debuted with a banging drum!

A great debut track with consistent energy pervading throughout the track as it weaves through a stunning showcase of all that the individual members have to offer, ‘DRUM’ kicks off Checkmate’s idol journey with a great start 🙂

7. cignature – ‘ARISONG’

A good kind of chaotic music that just hypes you up!

Mixed with just the right quantity of cute aegyo, youthful energy, uplifting beats and catchy vocals, ‘ARISONG’ thrives as one of the best upbeat, dance-along tracks of this year. The high-pitch range of the track and the musicality of cignature confirm themselves to be the group’s signature points after this track follows through on them like their other comebacks 🙂

8. UP10TION – ‘Light’

Banger Alert! Banger Alert!

The best thing about this comeback is how it is the perfect portrayal of the individuality of the members while retaining the signature of the group as a whole as well. The EDM-driven track makes use of all the members had to offer- effortless high notes, alluring rap flows, strong performance, and stunning visuals, to become a real banger comeback after their first comeback a year ago!

9. eaJ x Seori – ‘It just is (ft. keshi’s Strat)’

One of those calming but speaking-from-the-heart kind of tracks!

Featuring beautiful instrumentals by American singer, Keshi strumming on his Strat and the melodic vocals of R&B singer, Seori, eaJ of Day6 releases a track perfect for our “Lo-fi music” playlist. 

Aside from the musical appeal of the track, it also speaks of a deeper thought of how we push some people away due to our own internal battles, while hold on some who understands these battles. This depth of thinking hence adds a more sophisticated and lyrical texture to the already appealing track 🙂

10. H&D – ‘Umbrella’ 

This might be a touching farewell to this wonderful duo, but it is also a beautiful beginning of their journey as a group with others in it 🙂

This duo that has been dishing out one amazing track after the next since it was formed after Produce 101 ended and this track is no less amazing too! 

The R&B vibe track starts off with the calming sound of the rain pouring down which sets the mood for the rest of the track, makes a perfect display of Hangyul’s euphonious vocals and Dohyon’s great rap and composing skills.

11. BAE JIN YOUNG X KIM YO HAN – ‘I Believe’

Starship x Pepsi Campaign is really dishing out bops after bops!

For those who have seen the K-Drama, My Sassy Girl, this track would a real nostalgic trip as it reinvents the popular OST ballad into an upbeat, 80s synth-driven track that even features a good rap verse. The soft pastel coloured visuals and cinematography of the music video only adds to the appeal of this ad-cum-new-bop 🙂

12. ONEWE – ‘Parting’ 

A track you just wouldn’t want to part ways with 😉

The going back-and-forth from the frontman Yoonghoon’s low, deep vocals that suit the moody feel of the track perfectly and the powerful rap parts by Cya, and the electronic guitar and instrumentals break are what make this track by ONEWE, a great showcase of the band’s incredible vocal strength and musical potential!

13. M.O.N.T – ‘September Hills’

This September, let M.O.N.T tell you, ‘I Love You’ on September Hills!

Supplemented by a really peaceful and picturesque music video, ‘September Hills’ is a dreamy and melodic confession of love by M.O.N.T leader, Narachan whose sweet voice washes over the listener like a calming wave that drives all the noise and worries of the world away 🙂

14. Heize, Punch – ‘Midnight (Do You Like Brahms? OST)’

A heartfelt and soulful OST by one of the best vocalists of Korean Music!

Singing over a beautiful, heart-stirring piano melody and accompanied by dramatic, emotional scenes from the K-Drama, Do You Like Brahms?, ‘Midnight’ touches the very soul of the listener and moves him/her with the emotions it conveys.
