How many times have we all wanted to get our hands on Korean food or snacks, a lot of times right? We understand you better than you thought, don’t we?
Here is a recipe that literally blew off after BTS V made this recipe on BTS: In The Soop. We tried our hands on the recipe and trust me, it was so easy to make and so good to taste. It was so simple that even kids can make it, and honestly, t is so easy to call it a recipe.

Nurungji(누룽지) is a crispy rice snack relished with tea or as is in Korea and many other East-Asian countries. Nurungji literally translates to a crispy crust of rice formed at the bottom of the pot in which it is cooked. Without further delay let’s hop on the recipe.
Ingredients you will need
- Cooked rice
- Sesame oil (Optional)
Cooking Time: 5 Minutes
How to make it?
Place a pan on Cooktop add a scoop of cooked rice (not too much).
Add a little water to smoothen the rice, and flatten the rice into a thin layer. You don’t need to add oil to the pan (Non-stick) but if you want to add little oil go for sesame oil.
Cook the rice on medium-low heat and check from time to time to ensure the rice is not burning.
Once you see that the rice on one side is slightly golden, flip it on the other side and let it cook until golden.
And when both sides turn slightly golden, add a little sugar and let it caramelize a bit.
Once you acquire the desired crispy texture, take it off the flame. let it cool down a bit.
There you have it. Your crispy Scorched rice snack Nurungji right on your plate ready to be relished.
