It’s one of India’s most important holidays and a time to celebrate and cherish people and things that bring us joy. In the true sense of the festival’s symbolism, the Indian K-Pop community remembered their beloved artists on this auspicious occasion and celebrated the festival of Diwali with an interesting Desi-Hallyu fusion. Scroll to witness how!

Melodies, fans of the Cube Entertainment group BTOB, uniquely showcased a combination of their love for the boys and created a logo of BTOB surrounded by beautiful Indian flower art patterns using rangoli, lighting it up with Diyas and flowers.

EXO-Ls decorated their homes on the occasion with their rendering of an “EXO TWIST”. One of the fans created vibrantly coloured EXO signs with fresh flowers surrounded by luminescent Diyas and candles.

Another EXO-L made a geometric patterned rangoli design surrounded with hearts along with a patterned EXO heart as the centre. We spoke to the creator @wordart_cosmos, about the inspiration behind the piece:

“I personally feel indebted to Exo, so I dedicate this rangoli to our 12 hardworking boys (including 3 ex-members) who inspired me to be a better person, placing 12 diyas on it, praying for them to achieve their dreams.
They always say “Let’s love”, so that’s what I want to do, to spread love among all of you, irrespective of caste, creed, country, fandom.” – via @wordart_cosmos

Indian ARMYs weren’t far behind in creating a Desi tribute for the boys. One of the fans wished the boys a ‘Happy Diwali’ with her wonderful rangoli artwork. In her caption, she says:

“7 different diyas for our seven different and unique angels working for same purpose i.e “spreading light and ending darkness from our lives”. We armys are very thankful to BTS for being in our lives. Our words aren’t enough to describe our love towards you. You have changed our lives so beautifully that each and everyday feels like Diwali.” We Indian Armys want to dedicate this Diwali to BTS.
“This Diwali, let’s end all our evils and start loving our selves.”

What is a better way to celebrate the festival of lights in a desi Hallyu style than with the infamous lightsticks? One Indian Got 7 fan page did just that and drew a detailed Rangoli art of the green Got 7 lightstick along with the band’s name written in the signature font, and a customary Diya to bring it all together.

So this Diwali I just wanted to make something that makes me happy and Got7 is my topmost priority
So I made got7’s lightstick rangoli! +Got7 comeback is soon and I just wanted to cheer up every Ahgase and wish for their success on the auspicious day of Diwali. GOT7 really inspire Ahgase and we’re proud to stan them “
