Aside from their adorable dimples, it looks like Shin Min-ah and Kim Seon-ho are about to have something else in common. It was announced on April 2nd that the two will be starring opposite each other in tvN’s newest rom-com, ‘Seashore Village Chachacha.’ A remake of the 2004 film Mr. Hong starring Uhm Jung-hwa (last seen with the Refund Sisters) and the late Kim Joo-hyuk, the drama loosely follows the antics of a jack-of-all-trades, Mr. Hong and the righteous dentist, Yoon Hye-jin.
The slapstick comedy following a village bumpkin with a heart of gold is perfect for Kim Seon-ho who rose to fame for his loveable characters in Welcome To Waikiki 2 and Start-Up. As for Shin Min-ah, who was last seen in the cop-procedural thriller, Chief of Staff in 2019, we cannot wait to see this new side of her as she lets go of her perfectionist side with this fun k-drama.
The production team further added, “A perfect rom-com lineup is complete. Not only will Shin Min-ah and Kim Seon-ho show surprisingly high synchronization with their characters, but the bubbly yet warm story will also provide comfort. Please look forward to their rom-com chemistry that is bound to make hearts flutter.” Shin Ha-eun of The Crowned Clown will be co-scripting the project while it’ll be directed by Yoo Je-won of The King: Eternal Monarch fame. As for a release date, the show is set to air on tvN in the second half of the year.
