Gahyeon (Lee Ga-hyeon)

On January 13, 2017, the 5-member girl-group, MINX re-debuted under the name “Dreamcatcher” as a 7-member group and on January 19, they made an official debut stage at M Countdown.
Released their second single album Fall Asleep in the Mirror and its title track “Good Night” on April 5, 2017.
Released their first EP under their new name titled ‘Prequel’ on July 27, 2017 which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard World Albums Chart and peaked at No. 1 on the US iTunes K-Pop Top 100 Chart.
On October 3, Happy Face Entertainment announced that Dreamcatcher will join Mix Nine of YG Entertainment to be televised on JTBC but By December 10, 2017, Jiu, Siyeon, Yoohyeon and Dami left the show due to schedule conflict with their tour in Brazil.
Their debut track “Chase Me” was ranked No. 19 on Billboard‘s Best K-Pop Songs of 2017: Critics’ Picks and Dreamcatcher was listed No. 3 on Billboard’s Best New K-Pop Acts, 2017 by the end of 2017.
Dreamcatcher released a new digital single “Full Moon” dedicated to fans in celebration of their first anniversary on January 12 which immediately charted highly on the iTunes Top 100 K-Pop charts in many countries worldwide, and ranked No. 16 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart.
Held a fan meeting on January 13, 2018, at the Mary Hall Grand Theatre at Sogang University to celebrate the first anniversary of their debut with their fans, the tickets to which sold out in under a minute.
As part of their “Fly High World Tour“, Dreamcatcher toured 7 countries in Europe in February 2018 and became the first K-pop girl group to complete a tour of major European cities to perform their music and interact with the international fans there.
In March 2018, the group announced their official fandom name to be “InSomnia“.
Were appointed as “Public Relations Ambassador” for copyright protection for Microsoft’s latest Blockchain Security Technology commercialisation and copyright protection campaign on April 28, 2018.
On May 10, Dreamcatcher released their second EP, ‘Escape the Era’ whose Outside and Inside versions peaked at number 3 on Gaon, number 1 on China’s Yinyuetai and ranked at numbers 1 and 3 respectively on Hanteo’s album chart. It also made its debut on the Billboard World Albums chart at No. 7.
Held tour, ‘Welcome to the Dream World in Latin America‘, greeting their fans in the Latin America region in July and August 2018.
On July 15, 2018 Dreamcatcher signed with Pony Canyon to make their Japanese debut on 21st November with a Japanese version of their single “What”.
Won the Keum Yeong Star Awards, 2018 in the category of “Promising Idols“.
On February 13, 2019 Dreamcatcher released their fourth EP, ‘The End of Nightmare’ and the duration of this comeback saw the renaming of the company HappyFace Entertainment as “DreamCatcher Company“.
Went on an Asia Tour, ‘Invitation from Nightmare City‘, which was announced to be held in several cities – Jakarta, Manila, Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo and Kobe – from March to May 2019.
The newly added stops of the ‘Invitation From Nightmare City’ tour were announced to be the Australian cities Melbourne and Sydney and Kuala Lumpur, a city in Malaysia where the concert was to take place from late August to early September.
Unfortunately, due to a fire accident at 170 Russell theater on August 31, 2019, Dreamcatcher was forced to cancel their Melbourne stop one day before the concert was to be held.
Announcement of the official 1st generation membership for their fanclub ‘INSOMNIA’, which will confer fans various benefits and limited edition goods, on August 31, 2019.
On September 11, 2019, the group released their first Japanese full album titled ‘The Beginning of The End’ .
On September 18, 2019 the group released a Korean comeback album ‘Raid of Dream’ and the music video of their new Korean song ‘Deja Vu‘ which is a formal collaboration with the mobile game ‘King’s Raid’.
Dreamcatcher embarked on their second Europe Tour in October-November, 2019 starting from the city of London (October 24) and Milan (October 27) and ending the tour at Helsinki on November 7, 2019.
Successfully completed their ‘First ever Tour in the United States of America‘ as well, where they performed in cities of Los Angeles (December 6), Chicago (December 8), Dallas (December 11), Orlando (December 13), and Jersey City (December 15).
On January 15th, 2020 Dreamcatcher announced that their third Japanese single, entitled ‘Endless Night‘, will be released on 11th March, 2020.
Revamped as a 7-member girl-group, Dreamcatcher made a powerful debut with their title track, ‘Chase Me’ which is fueled by electric guitar riffs and highly energetic choreography even though the introduction of the song is through a lone melody of the piano.
Another track of Dreamcatcher written for the mobile game,’King’s Raid’ titled ‘Deja Vu’ is like a blast of fresh energy mixed in with the elegant and melodic notes, that is something different from the rock style influences that the group is known for.
Starting off as a soloist as well, the group’s ever mellifluent vocalist, Siyeon has also made the group and their fandom proud!
Her newly released song, a special clip called “Paradise” with a dramatic melody and electronic influences is proof of that 😉
